The Hi-G-Tek Micro Reader is a component of Hi-G-Tek’s wireless monitoring system. The Hi-G-Tek system uses Highly Intelligent RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) wireless technology and hardware to provide automatic processing and real-time monitoring of cargo or assets whether in transit or in storage. The system combines the technological and operational advantages of patented portable electronic sensors to simultaneously verify their disposition and status- which creates real-time “actionable” business information.

At the core of every Hi-G-Tek device is the patented and trademarked “DataReader™” sensing system. The key-fob sized Micro Reader communicates with a Hi-G-Lock, Hi-G-Seal or Hi-G-Tag over the low-frquency channel (125KHz) and performs two basic functions: 1) It verifies the lock/seal/tag status and provides the user with an indication as to whether the device has been tampered with since being set. 2) It can also reset the lock/seal/tag for a new use. The Micro Reader reset does not erase device logged data; it marks a new start of each inspection cycle.

The Micro Reader leaves a “footprint” in the lock/seal/tag memory with the Micro Reader’s ID, identifying the specific Micro Reader that performed a command or interrogation. The Micro Reader is a simple solution, containing two buttons, a twocolored LED, and a beeper. The SET key is optional; the Micro Reader can be used for inspection only with the READ key.
